The dialogue
consists of a series of workshops organized jointly with
the
Institute for Global
Environmental Strategies (IGES). The purposes of the
dialogue are to:
- help local
experts understand the current process and outstanding issues
- discuss domestic barriers and ways forward
in a more informal way
- enhance
collaboration with Asian institutions
The first round of workshops, started in March 2001, were
organized in China, Korea, India, Thailand
and Cambodia. Discussion focused mainly a general CC policy issues, in
particular issues related to mitigation.
The second round is focused on practical training and
capacity building, mainly on adaptation and impacts.
